About the Speakers

HEIDI BAYNES

Coordinator Ed Tech at Riverside County Office of Education

Heidi Baynes is a Coordinator of Educational Technology for the Riverside County Office of Education. She specializes in the integration of technology into classroom instruction and is a strong advocate of computer science education and the #CSforALL movement. Her experience in K-12 public education includes online, blended and traditional classroom models where she has taught multiple subjects and grade levels. Additionally, she is highly invested in the importance of the Maker Movement, and looks for ways to merge the maker mentality with lesson design to enhance the student learning experience.

EDUARDO RIVERA

EdTech TOSA Palm Springs Unified School District

Eduardo is an instructional technology specialist at Palm Springs Unified School district. He was an Algebra teacher at his alma mater, Cathedral City High School, class of 2003. He graduated from the University of California in Irvine in 2007 and received his credential and his masters from National University.

Eduardo enjoys researching new technology and is constantly looking to improve the learning environment in his district. He has helped deploy 25k Chromebooks throughout grades K - 12 and provides support for all teachers at PSUSD.

Eduardo has presented at ISTE, CUE, EdCampLA, and numerous local conferences. Eduardo is a Level 2 Google Teacher, Leading Edge Certified, Apple Teacher, a Google Innovator, LAX18.

Eduardo is the father of four. He met his wonderful wife as a student at Cathedral City High School. His wife, Ruby Rivera, is also a teacher. Both Eduardo and Ruby hope to help and encourage students as their teachers did for them.
